Claire family’s farm and front paddock were transformed into a luxe event space with festoon lights, florals bursting with colour and a Hampton style marquee for their 120 guests. Located in Regional Victoria at the border of South Australia, Lake Mundi was a destination wedding with guests travelling from Melbourne and spending the night in glamping tents.

Claire wore a custom gown by Melbourne’s own Holly Butler. Her dress was inspired by Claire’s maternal grandmother’s wedding dress from the 1950s and Holly Butler gave the design a modern touch, adding silk flowers to the skirt and veil. The bridesmaids wore cornflower blue dresses by Rachel Gilbert. Claire & Giles wed in front of family and friends in an outdoor ceremony before the rain arrived and umbrellas were sourced from near and far. Under the tented Hampton marquee, guests wined and dined to great music and speeches before the dance floor (conga line included) got rowdy. For sunset portraits, the rain eased for long enough for us to take some wonderful photos. I love it when it rains at a wedding as the couples pull each other closer and it’s so romantic. Sophie and Harry’s Vogue wedding was also held in the rain and they look oh-so-amazing. ⁠
