MELBOURNE CHURCH WEDDING

Couple: STEPHANIE AND ARTHUR

CEREMONY: Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia

RECEPTION: harbour room, melbourne

Without a doubt, Stephanie and Arthur’s Melbourne Church Wedding was a stand-out of this season.

The couple’s ceremony was held at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australiaon Dorcas Street, Melbourne before the bride, groom and guests celebrated with a reception at Harbour Room, St Kilda, where planner Weddings by E had worked her magic.

Stephanie wore a dress by Curator The Label that was inspired by the Vivienne Westwood gown that Carrier wore in Sex In The City. She paired her wedding dress with Aquazzura pumps (and a sneaky pair of Gianvito Rossi heels as a back up). Arthur wore a custom suit by Instichu opting for a classic black tuxedo.

What made Stephanie and Arthur’s wedding unique was the nod to their Greek and Italian heritage. During their church wedding, they were crowned with the Stefana (Greek Wedding Crown), which are two crowns joined by ribbon symbolising unity. Following tradition, the priest will bless the couple and they are “crowned” the King and Queen of their home. The ceremony was truly beautiful and rich in symbolism.
